I will still be here next season: Ancelotti

LONDON

Chelsea's match at Portsmounth on Wednesday could be the turning point in the club's challenge for the Premier League title - and coach Carlo Ancelotti's future.

However, Ancelotti confidently says he will still be Chelsea manager next season even if he fails to win a title with the club this year.
Ancetolli acknowledged after last week's 1-0 loss to Inter Milan that he was under pressure but told Italian newspaper La Stampa that the blues will do well in the remainder of the season.
But, ancetolli says his "future will definitely be at Chelsea next year in defendent of results".
Chelsea was eliminated from the Champions League last week and has dropped to third place behind Manchester United and Arsenal after Sunday's 1-1 draw againts Black burn took its record to four points from three matches.
With Portsmouth putting up a spirited fight againts almost certain relegation, Chelsea's trip to Fratton Park suddenly looks anything but straightforward.
"I don't know how many points we need to win the title but I know we have to win on Wednesday and then prepare game by game," Ancelotti said. "It will be more difficult now to win the title but it's not impossible.
"It's not an easy moment for us and we have to maintain our confidence and our composure."
Chelsea spent much of the season in first place but, since losing its 38-match unbeaten home streak to manchester city on Feb. 17, has spent only one day there.
Chelsea is now four points behind defending champion united and two behind Arsenal, both of which have played 31 games to chelsea's 30.
But Ancelotti is keeping any planned tactical tweaks to himself and is publicly urging his players to work harder.
"The difficult moment started against Manchester City. We lost an unbelievable game and now we are inside this moment and have to win because that is the only solution to go forward," Ancelotti said. "collectively we need to work together and stay compact."
Led by former Chelsea coach Avram Grant, Portsmouth looks doomed to demotian by its ninepoint penalty for breaching financial regulations but has won two of its past four premier league matches and reaches the FA Cup semifinals.
"We're professionals and it doesn't matter what happens," portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu said. "We always have to go out there and give our best.
We don't want the fans to come out here for us only to see us not play well. And when you're playing at home, you have to try to make them smile. They've paid a lot of money to come and watch us."
Chelsea is 10 points clear of Tottenham, which is in FA Cup actioan on Wednesday and could lose fourth place to Manchester City.
While Spurs host Fulham in a quarterfinal replay, City hosts inform Everton in one of Wednesday's four Premier League matches.
Everton has lost just one of its pat six lauge matches to give it self a shot of European qualification, while City has been hugely inconsistent over the past two months failing to win consecutive premier league games since Jan. 11.
City can move into the final Champions league berth for the firts time in a month with victory over everton, but will probably have to do so without Joleon Lescott after the former Everton defender hurt his hamstring in the warm-up for sanday's 2-1 win at fulham.
